

Who we are
We are dental practitioners who offer oral health training and education for health workers and personal carers in the aged, home and disability sectors.
In keeping with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standard 5.5.7, we train workers to have the knowledge and skills in delivering oral hygiene (for natural teeth and dentures) and supporting older people with complex needs or behaviours to maintain their oral health and prevent decline.
Training:
- On-site face-to-face training.
- Off-site live or recorded sessions.
- Face-to-face Train-the-Trainer.
Service providers:
- Updating oral health assessment, procedures, and policies.
- Recommendation of dental products and aids.
- Oral health screening, preventive information, and referral for dental treatment.
Our vision is to be the preferred provider of oral health care training and referral pathways in the aged, home and disability sectors in Australia.
Our mission is to provision of up-to-date dentally-led evidence to inform oral health assessments, care plans, coaching and clinical referral pathways.

What we do
Our team at SDCAust is passionate and keen to conduct translational research by consulting, educating, and supporting multidisciplinary health workers to improve oral health care for aged persons and persons with a chronic disease or disability in urban, regional, and rural areas around Australia. With combined skill sets, SDCAust has the experience and expertise as clinicians, teachers, and trainers as well as inspirational mentors and motivators.
