Summary

The WISE Community of Practice (CoP) is a national peer learning community convened by STREAT, a Melbourne-based work integration social enterprise. A WISE, or Work Integration Social Enterprise, is an organisation that creates employment and training opportunities for people who face significant barriers to finding work, such as people experiencing homelessness, mental ill-health, or long-term unemployment. The CoP was established to give WISE practitioners a dedicated space to connect, share tools and experiences, and strengthen their practice.

The community ran six sessions between May 2025 and May 2026, covering practical topics focused on improving outcomes for both participants and organisations. Sessions used a structured format that included peer exchange, shared problem-solving, and a "give-and-get" format where participants could offer expertise and request support in return. Each session summary is available to download from the page, alongside core documents including the CoP guidelines and an origin story from STREAT's team.

The page also hosts a growing resource repository and additional materials including a wrap-up webinar, a guide to trust-based learning, and an e-learns overview. The CoP was open to support staff, program managers, trainers, and HR staff working within WISE employment models. The resource is most relevant to WISE practitioners and social enterprise leaders across Australia involved in designing, delivering, or evaluating training and employment pathways.
