This report introduces the ‘PRISM Framework’, a comprehensive guide for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into social innovation responsibly and effectively. Developed in collaboration with EY and Microsoft, it builds on previous research to provide actionable pathways for organisations at different stages of AI adoption. Key Features of the PRISM Framework include:
- Impact mission and strategy: aligning AI use with organisational goals and ethical principles, and encouraging early engagement with stakeholders to ensure alignment with community values.
- Adoption Pathways: identifying scalable and iterative approaches to AI integration, from simple, low-cost tools to AI-first transformations, and starting with low-risk applications, such as internal process improvements, before advancing to more complicated AI-driven solutions.
- Capabilities and risks: highlighting essential considerations, including ethics, data security, organisational readiness, and technology choices; and addressing challenges like data biases, cost management, and transparency in AI decision-making.
This report provides a roadmap for leveraging AI to drive innovation and scale impact while maintaining ethical standards.
