Who we are
The Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA) is a member-led peak body that represents the interests of social entrepreneurs and social enterprises across New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory. We exist to:
- Engage and connect the social enterprise sector in NSW and ACT
- Secure investment and policy change for the sector
- Be an organisation that can sustain and grow our impact

What we do
SECNA provides its members with:
- Advocacy: Engaging with local, state, and federal government to advocate for policy changes and investment that benefit social entrepreneurs and enterprises in NSW & ACT, ensuring members’ voices are heard.
- Resources & Opportunities: Members receive exclusive access to news, mentoring, resources, and opportunities via newsletters, social media, and other updates.
- Exposure & Connection: SECNA connects members to a network of social enterprises and supporters through forums, networking events, and promotion of members' stories, impact, and offerings.

Social Enterprise Festival 2024Supporting women in social enterprise
Other1 in 2 social enterprises globally are run by women, compared to 1 in 5 traditional businesses. Thanks to the generous support of the NSW Government, SECNA is providing additional support to women (including women with a disability and culturally and linguistically diverse women) to start or grow their social enterprise. Program commencing August 2024.
