Who we are
Seedkit is an initiative of Melbourne Social Equity Institute at the University of Melbourne. Its free learning and reporting platform was co-designed with social enterprises. The initial development of Seedkit was conducted in partnership with the Centre for Social Impact Swinburne and funded by Victoria State Government.
What we do
Measuring and communicating impact is difficult but important for many purpose-led organisations. For social enterprises, it can be even more complex because it is important to report on both your impact and the sustainability of your business operations. In addition, the impact you are generating together with your business success needs to be reported to many different stakeholders to provide a full picture of your social enterprise.
Seedkit solves these problems. It is a free, self-managed impact reporting and learning tool designed with and for social enterprises. It enables you to select or create indicators that accurately reflect your social enterprise's impact goals and business operations. Seedkit provides a simple and streamlined way of entering and monitoring data and it generates meaningful data dashboards and downloadable reports for stakeholders.
Seedkit also produces insights about the social enterprise sector. The developers of Seedkit are highly experienced researchers who are able to aggregate and analyse de-identified data from Seedkit to generate insights about the sector and provide social enterprises, policymakers and funders with the evidence they need to help the sector thrive.

Tips for measuring and communicating ImpactWhat is a theory of change and why does it matter?
PlatformsThere is a huge range of literature about theory of change to be found online. At its simplest, a theory of change is a means of visualising the way(s) in which we think a particular impact is created. This demonstrates 'pathways to impact' by showing how the inputs, activities, outputs and outcomes of an organisation or initiative link together.
