Who we are

Florapeutic is the 1st and only flower-repurposing social enterprise on a mission to tackle flower waste issues in Australia, through flower donations and preservation. We rescue and repurpose fresh flowers that are otherwise wasted after events. To help corporates and consumers reduce their carbon footprint, we share their event flowers with the local communities and transform the special blooms into floral artwork.

Through this initiative which aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health & Well-being) and 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production), we aim to increase the awareness of green waste and mental well-being, and to invite the communities to get involved. 

Our story

When Karin and her husband planned to use fresh-cut flowers for their wedding, taking care of these flowers post-event did not cross their minds. At the end of their Big Day, they realised these blooms were still fresh and beautiful, but the couple and guests could not carry all of them home. They ended up leaving them at the venue and wondered what happened to the flowers afterwards.

Since then when Karin attended private and corporate events, seeing the beautiful floral arrangements got her thinking over and over again. Given the huge amount of fresh flowers being used in the Event industry, not every stem continues to serve until the end. Sadly, most are sent to landfills as being mistreated.

After many conversations with like-minded people who also appreciate event flowers, Florapeutic was born to rescue and repurpose these blooms to soothe many souls. Karin started Florapeutic because she loves flowers as they are beautiful and therapeutic. They have the power to touch our souls and put smiles on our faces. Her passion for flowers led her to learn about floristry. She soon realised that a lot of waste is produced in the industry and decided to play a part in minimising the impact.

What we do

Flower Donation

We save event flowers from sending to landfills while sharing joy with those in need across Australia. 

How it works

At the end of your event, we pack down the flowers and repurpose them through our Flower Donation service, available in Greater Sydney and expanding to other major cities. We refresh and deliver the blooms to hospitals, aged care facilities, or those in need. If you’d like, we can also gift-wrap flowers for your guests or preserve special blooms as keepsakes in premium wooden frames. Simply let us know your event details, and we’ll handle the rest!

Flower Preservation

Bespoke keepsakes with special blooms transformed into everlasting petals in frames.

How it works

Preserve your meaningful flowers instead of sending them to landfill. Whether from weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, or memorials, we offer customised modern flower preservation Australia-wide. We design your artwork based on your vision, with options for flower drop-off or mailing to us. The process takes approximately 12 weeks, including drying, pressing, and framing in premium double-sided wooden frames. You can choose to add smaller frames as gifts or sets. Pick-up and delivery options are available. Let us know your requirements, and we'll handle the rest!
