Yulawil Sharing Circle Video

This video features a series of short reflections from people working within First Nations organisations, responding to prompts about how they support First Nations youth and what better support could look like. Speakers describe practical needs such as pathways into employment, traineeships and apprenticeships, in-person events, mentoring through school, and cultural learning many young people otherwise miss out on.

Several speakers reflect on the limits of current workplace structures, including the tendency for Aboriginal staff to hit a ceiling once they occupy "the only Aboriginal role" in an organisation, and describe wisdom as something that comes through lived experience rather than age. Others speak to the emotional weight young First Nations people carry into corporate environments, and the importance of organisations doing their own research, examining their own biases, and trusting young people to know what they need rather than designing support without consulting them first.
