Who we are
We are the first and only community legal service focused on racial justice. RJC is founded by lawyers and community leaders with extensive legal experience and lived experience of intersectional discrimination. Our mission is to ensure every Australian lives free from racial discrimination.
What we do
Our core services include providing legal support, curating programs and events that build communities and providing educational and policy reform focused on eradicating racial injustice. We collaborate with communities to create impactful change and uphold human dignity for everyone.
We advocated for a suite of changes to the current laws, including:
- Cost protection
- Shifting the burden of proof
- Having a positive duty towards racial equality
- Extended the time-limits
- Ensuring the law was intersectional
