Who we are
ShoreTrack is a community-focused not-for-profit organisation based in the Nambucca Valley on NSW’s Mid North Coast. We support young people who have become disengaged from school or work because of life challenges. We offer a safe, hands-on learning environment where young people can grow confidence, build skills and feel part of a welcoming community. Our work is grounded in practical, skills-based learning and long-term support so young people can reconnect with learning, training and opportunities that suit their interests.
ShoreTrack was founded by Jillian Ashley and Paul Ireland and supported by a board of experienced business owners, experienced educators, behaviour specialists, and executive officers of community services organisations.
What we do
ShoreTrack helps young people re-engage with learning, develop work and life skills, and explore pathways into further education or employment. We combine mentoring, real work experience and flexible support so young people stay engaged and supported over time.
A key part of our work is STeps, our work-integrated social enterprise. Through STeps, young people learn and earn while working on real jobs in lawn maintenance, agriculture, digital metal fabrication, concreting and more. They gain practical skills, industry experience and confidence, while profits are reinvested back into training and support for other young people. STeps helps bridge the gap between learning and employment, giving young people meaningful steps toward their future.
How can you support ShoreTrack?
To continue our work with these young people, we rely on funding from various sources- grants, not-for-profit organisations, state and local government, local businesses, the community and most importantly, philanthropic support.
