Who we are

PermaQueer is an educational organisation dedicated to empowering Queer, People of Colour (POC), and other marginalised communities through permaculture education. Founded in Naarm (Melbourne) during the 2019 COVID-19 lockdowns by Guy Ritani (they/them/Ia) and Toad Dell (they/them/it), we challenge traditional systems and build inclusive, regenerative solutions.

Our mission is to support Queer and vulnerable communities with permaculture education. We also assist those who run organisations to implement frameworks underpinned by ecological thinking and Queer theory for a better future.

Through collaboration with Indigenous, Queer, and POC communities, we develop frameworks that support decolonisation, collective action, and sustainable living. Our vision includes economies that prioritise well-being, communities that are resourced equitably, and an environment regarded as an ally in regeneration.

By bridging education, activism, and community-driven solutions, we work towards a future where marginalised perspectives lead the transition to sustainability and climate resilience.

What we do

We design and deliver educational programs, experiences to develop community engagement & propagate living networks. We central cultural ways of being and knowing to support fit for community, place and purpose solutions.

  • Community partnerships: We collaborate with organisations like TedX, VicHealth, and Transgender Victoria to amplify diverse voices in climate action.
