Who we are
Neurokindred is a dedicated support organisation for Autistic adults navigating the journey of self-discovery and acceptance following identification. Founded by Linda Tuxford-Adams, an Autistic counsellor, we understand the unique experiences and challenges faced by Autistic individuals. Our mission is to provide a safe, neuro-affirming community where Autistic adults can explore their identities, process their experiences, and thrive authentically.
Our approach is rooted in lived experience, ensuring that our services resonate deeply with those we support. We recognise the importance of community and shared understanding in fostering well-being. By centering Autistic voices and experiences, we aim to prioritise the provision and development of Autistic-led, co-designed, and innovative supports for Autistics, by Autistics.
At Neurokindred, we are committed to inclusivity and respect for all individuals, regardless of background, gender, sexuality, culture, or ability. We strive to create an environment where diversity is celebrated, and every person feels valued and understood.

What we do
Neurokindred offers a range of services tailored to support Autistic adults in their personal growth and well-being:
Online Individual Counselling: We provide confidential, professional therapy sessions conducted via private Zoom meetings. These sessions offer a comfortable and secure environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without the stress of commuting or unfamiliar settings. Our Autistic counsellors bring a unique, empathetic understanding to the therapeutic relationship, fostering genuine connection and attunement.
Text-Based Counselling: Recognising that verbal communication can be challenging for some, we offer text-based counselling services. This modality allows clients to express themselves in writing, providing flexibility and comfort while still receiving professional support.
Innovative Group therapy: Our affordable group therapy is facilitated by Autistic mental health & wellbeing providers and uses innovative modalities like Table Top Role Playing Games (TTRPGs) and Fantasy Book Bibliotherapy. These sessions allow participants to engage in creative exploration, build connections, and deepen their understanding of themselves and others.
Peer Support Groups: Our Autistic-led online peer support groups create a safe space for individuals to share experiences, explore their identities, and build community. Facilitated by two Autistic co-facilitators, these groups focus on post-identification support, fostering a recovery-oriented approach that celebrates Autistic strengths.
Through these services, Neurokindred aims to empower Autistic adults to embrace their identities, connect with others, and thrive in a neurodiverse-affirming environment.
