Meaningful Ageing Australia

Who we are

Meaningful Ageing Australia is the national peak body dedicated to championing the spiritual care and emotional wellbeing of older people in residential and community aged care settings. As a registered charity, we lead in providing education and resources for evidence-based spiritual care tailored to the ageing population.

We understand that spirituality encompasses the ways individuals seek and express meaning, purpose, and connection in their lives. This can manifest through relationships, nature, creativity, service, or religious and cultural practices. Our inclusive approach ensures that spiritual care is accessible to all, regardless of faith or belief systems.

Our vision is for every older person to feel at ease in their life, experiencing belonging, connection, and a sense of wholeness. To achieve this, we promote an inclusive understanding of spiritual care, develop capabilities and confidence among care providers, and advocate for the value of spiritual care in aged care services.
