Who we are

Kawal Pictures is a Supply Nation-registered communications strategy service provider focused on quality video production and licensed drone footage and mapping. It's our mission as founders to produce outstanding storytelling video while providing pathways to employment in our sector for up-and-coming Aboriginal video producers, photographers, and even filmmakers.

Co-founder Scott Franks is a Wonnarua archaeologist and environmental consultant, and the founder of Tocomwall Pty Ltd – a leading Aboriginal heritage management and protection company. Scott has decades of experience working with tier one companies and government departments in driving projects and providing quality heritage advice.
 
Bill Code, founder of Wedge-Tail Pictures is a visual storyteller and trainer who has filmed with and told stories for the BBC, ABC, Guardian and Al Jazeera and a range of government organisations and businesses. His 2022 feature film  The Lake of Scars is co-funded by the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council and auspiced by the Dja Dja Wurrung Corporation. He has taught video journalism at both Macquarie University and UWS.
