Who we are

Impact North provides culturally safe, relationship-led business support on Country, shaped by Indigenous expertise, so remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs can grow sustainable businesses that benefit their communities.

We take time to build trust and understand each entrepreneur’s goals, context, and obligations. From the start, entrepreneurs lead the direction of their learning and business journey; our role is to listen, back their choices, and provide practical next steps.

Our programs are designed and delivered with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, grounded in cultural integrity and local protocols. We work alongside local businesses, government, and community organisations to strengthen the networks and opportunities that help businesses thrive.

What we do

Impact North supports remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs across Northern Australia through practical, culturally safe programs, a paid Community Membership network, and coworking spaces in Darwin:

1. Stepping Into Business: a first-step program for emerging entrepreneurs in East Arnhem Land - delivered on Country, in language, to explore ideas, learn the basics, and build confidence.
2. Business Builder: intensive, practical support for early-stage entrepreneurs who are ready to strengthen or grow a business - building confidence, skills, and structure with relationship-first support.
3. Community Membership: our membership network that keeps alumni and values-aligned members connected beyond programs - sharing opportunities, peer learning, and ongoing support.
4. Impact North CoWork: flexible professional workspaces in Darwin (Nightcliff and Parap), with facilities and a welcoming community for purpose-led organisations and social enterprises.

Our Impact

Impact North's interactive impact page maps our work with Indigenous-led enterprises across Northern Australia, from the Tiwi Islands to Tennant Creek. It features an interactive digital map showcasing Indigenous-led enterprise development across Northern Australia, alongside business success stories and reports.

Highlights:

• 188 new job opportunities created for First Nations people in remote communities by entrepreneurs
• 89% of participants reported increased personal empowerment after completing the program
• 84% satisfaction with team support, with highest ratings in cultural respect and accessibility
