Who we are

First Nations Research Victoria is dedicated to culturally appropriate research that focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community’s needs, First Nations Research Victoria is 100% Aboriginal owned, focused on cultural safety, sensitivity training and research. Engaging with an external Aboriginal Advisory Consultancy Group to ensure cultural obligations and protocols align with First Nations Research Victoria’s approach of two-way learning whereby shared knowledges are fundamental in gaining a deep understanding on the impacts and outcomes of ongoing colonisation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. First Nations Research Victoria provides a safe place to form positive relationships to connect the health, social and criminal justice systems for everyone.

Robyn Newitt is a proud Dharawal (South-West Sydney area of New South Wales) and Yorta Yorta (Echuca and Shepparton area along the Murray River in Victoria) woman and founder of First Nations Research Victoria and a leading provider of Aboriginal cultural consulting and research services, helping organisations navigate and engage with Aboriginal communities in a respectful and meaningful manner. Through the expertise, dedication, and commitment to cultural integrity, Robyn aims to make a positive impact on intercultural relations and contribute to the empowerment and wellbeing of Aboriginal peoples.
