Who we are

Hi! We're husband-and-wife team Adam & Carmel Wooding & we are Empower Digital.

Those who know us would say that we're a bit adventurous... a bit nerdy... and VERY passionate about seeing small and micro businesses in Australia get the knowledge, skills & confidence they need to succeed.

Why? Because success in business gives individuals, families and communities the opportunity to live the life that they choose, and the self determination to make their own future.

And we think that's a pretty great thing.

Adam is a proud Wamba Wemba and Yorta Yorta man who grew up on Yugumbeh Country on the Gold Coast, Qld. Adam has worked in the web design and ecommerce field for over 15 years & has seen first-hand its transformative effect for small businesses. Adam is a passionate advocate for the Shopify platform and his attention to detail and people-driven nature means that our clients know that there is no such thing as a ‘silly question’.

Carmel was born & raised on Githabul Country in South East Queensland and is an educator - specifically a teacher-librarian. Carmel is passionate about lifelong learning and believes in the potential of every person to be successful with digital tools. Carmel’s extensive experience in curriculum design & development, as well as providing professional development for teachers, ensures that Empower Digital’s work with small businesses is designed with long-term success in mind. 

What we do

We partner with organisations, educational foundations and Government bodies to add measurable value to small & micro businesses in Australia through customised training in ecommerce and digital tools; and through providing small business support.

Presentations & Webinars

We create and present live or prerecorded webinars, or in-person presentations, that are customised to the needs of your target audience. These can be short or long form, and topics have previously included:

1-1 Support

We excel at providing small businesses with 1-1, tailored support to help them navigate their online presence. We create a safe space founded on respect to ensure all clients feel listened to, understood, and able to progress at their own pace. We are able to assist with:

• Teaching people to build their own online stores using Shopify
• Shopify support, troubleshooting and training
• Email/collaboration tools setup, configuration and training
• Search Engine Optimisation & Google Business Profile support
• Training & support in other digital tools

Training Programs

We love working with organisations to create custom, long-form training programs that help businesses reach that 'next-level'. We can create online or in-person programs, and our training mantra is to give participants tangible value in each and every session. We do this by ensuring all programs are hands-on, presenting best-practise theory AND allowing time to practise the skills to make it second nature.
