Commonsight

Who we are

Commonsight exists to show that the way people work can help shape a better world. It aims to leave lasting skills and confidence in the people and places it works with. Over time, this helps communities become more regenerative, meaning they are left stronger and better off than before.

Many organisations treat change as a process to be managed. Commonsight treats it as something people live through. It believes the values leaders commit to must show up in everyday work. If they don't, trust drops, people stop using new systems, and change fails.

The organisation works with three main groups: education and learning organisations, government and the public sector, and purpose-led organisations and communities. Purpose-led organisations exist mainly to create social good. This group includes small businesses and local communities.

What we do

Commonsight works in the gap between how systems are designed and how people actually use them. It builds skills directly into daily work. This means it strengthens an organisation's own staff rather than relying on outside trainers who visit and leave. Its work has three parts.

Experience architecture
Experience architecture is the design of how people move through their tasks, tools, and processes. Commonsight designs workflows, operating processes, and digital tools so that people and systems work well together.

Mobilised capacity
Commonsight places its own specialists inside client organisations. These include strategists, work designers, and learning technologists, who are experts in digital tools for teaching and learning. They work alongside staff and take on much of the hard work during change.

Better Knowing, Better Becoming™
This program builds an organisation's long-term ability to adapt. The aim is to turn constant change into resilience rather than exhaustion. Commonsight measures results using its own Change Experience metrics, which track how people experience change.

In education, Commonsight supports digital change and shifts in teaching, drawing on its knowledge of education technology (EdTech) and curriculum. In government, it helps with new ideas for public services, service design, and putting policy into practice. Service design means planning a service around the needs of the people who use it. For small businesses and communities, it helps them adapt, find new opportunities, and support local economies.
