Who we are

After is a social enterprise that collects and processes textile waste across Australia and New Zealand. It was founded by Yesha Patel and is supported by a team working across partnerships, operations, and marketing, backed by an advisory board providing strategic, coaching, and financial guidance.

After exists to close the gap between textiles that are too worn to donate and textiles that end up in landfill. Its model is built on the principles of the circular economy (an economic model in which materials are kept in use for as long as possible and waste is minimised), and it aims to make textile waste recovery as simple and accessible as any other waste stream. Pricing is structured so that responsible textile disposal does not cost more than landfill disposal, because accessibility is central to After's model, not an optional feature.

Since launch, After has diverted over 190,000 kilograms of textiles from landfill across more than 300 businesses and councils in Australia and New Zealand.

What we do

After provides four connected services for households, corporate offices, construction sites, schools, councils, and hotels and hospitality groups.

Collection

After offers scheduled and ad hoc doorstep pickups for households and businesses, a courier drop-off option, and recurring collection bins for offices, councils, and multi-unit residential buildings. Collections cover unwearable clothing, linen, bedding, and uniforms.

Textile recycling

Collected textiles are processed through GRS-certified recycling partners (the Global Recycled Standard is an independent certification that verifies recycled content claims are accurate and auditable). End-of-life materials are shredded and re-spun into new yarn, giving them a second life as raw material.

Upcycling network

Textiles that are unwearable but retain creative potential are redirected to local designers, artists, and community projects for reuse in fashion, furniture, and art.

Impact reporting

Every collection is weighed on arrival, and clients receive verified data on kilograms diverted, water saved, and CO₂ reduced. This reporting is ready to use for ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and sustainability reporting, and is based on independently auditable data rather than estimates. Current programs include a live pilot with Australian Red Cross and multiple council contracts across Australia and New Zealand.
