Palawa Business Hub: Growing connections and support for Aboriginal social enterprises in Lutruwita
This learning community builds relationships between Aboriginal social enterprises and wider business and community stakeholders to grow awareness of, and opportunities for, engaging and supporting Aboriginal social enterprise in Lutruwita.
About the learning community
This learning community will:
- Support Aboriginal social enterprise leaders and members of the Palawa Business Network to lead conversations during Reconciliation week 2026, sharing reflections and insights with diverse stakeholders (private, public and community) on themes such as:
- Challenges/barriers experienced by Aboriginal businesses with procurement.
- Ways to support Aboriginal people and communities through supporting Aboriginal business.
- Informal yarns exploring possibilities and partnerships.
- Building capable allies for Aboriginal businesses in Lutruwita.
About the convenor
The Palawa Business Hub is a place of connection and opportunity. It exists to explore and offer culturally appropriate support and pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business owners and entrepreneurs to create, innovate and thrive. With a vision for a connected, vibrant and growing community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses across Lutruwita/Tasmania, the Palawa Business Hub seeks to:
- Connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to tailored advice and solutions to grow and meet their business needs through relevant training offers and workshops.
- Recommend specific support services and opportunities to connect through mentoring and hosting networking events.
- Provide accessible information for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to achieve their business goals with confidence.
- Showcase authentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in business across Lutruwita via our online business directory and website.
- Share work opportunities through building relationships with industry and government agencies.
